Rosa Clará Parellas laid the foundation for what is known today as a major force in the bridal industry, Grupo Rosa Clará.
After working as an executive in the bridal industry for over a decade and frustrated at how fashion and style were overlooked by most bridal designers, Rosa Clará opened her own bridal store in 1995 in fashionable Barcelona, in the region of Catalonia, Spain. By offering innovative designs created with the highest quality fabrics and workmanship, Rosa Clará quickly established herself as a leading designer in Spain offering a high-fashion design and quality combination that had previously been unavailable in the bridal world. Her new perception of the bride revolutionized the sector and, in a very short period of time, Rosa Clará started to open more stores and franchises throughout Spain while also undertaking a multi-brand channel approach for the international market.
A decision was made to create secondary brands: Two by Rosa Clará, Soft by Rosa Clará, Aire Barcelona, Luna Novia, and Alma Novia, which enabled Grupo Rosa Clará to offer similar products at more affordable prices. Subsequently, exclusive contracts were signed with haute couture fashion designers Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld, and Jesús del Pozo to create and distribute the bridal collections at a global level.
In 2008, Rosa Clará was recognized as an Honorary Professor of the University of Guadalajara (Mexico) for her contribution to the world of fashion and for setting an example for young designers. In 2009, she won the “Barcelona és Moda” Award for dimension and international expansion, and, in March 2013, she received the Best Bridal Designer of the Year award at Miami Fashion Week.
The next challenge that Grupo Rosa Clará undertook was to offer a comprehensive service to each bride providing her with cocktail dresses and stylish bridesmaids dresses. So, in 2007, three party dress collections were created, “Fiesta Two by Rosa Clará,” “Fiesta Aire Barcelona,” and “Couture Club,” which were also complimented by shoes, bridal accessories, and a Home Line.
When Rosa Clará entered North America, the business was already flourishing. She won the “Top Glamour 2010 Latin America Award” in the Fashion Entrepreneur Section and, in 2011, she was recognized by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce in the “IWEC - International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge.”
Today, the group has two corporate headquarters in Barcelona - one in Hospitalet de Llobregat and one in Sant Just Desvern. Grupo Rosa Clará continues to passionately pursue its international expansion process with the 2009 addition of its Northern New Jersey (USA) office and recent additions of offices in Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.
